Meet The Team

Meet Tom the owner of Ailsa. Tom held senior sales and management positions with several national forklift companies. In 1993 he formed Ailsa Machinery and has overseen the growth of the business for more than 30 years.

Meet Brendan our managing director. With a background in management and continuous improvement, Brendan aims for the very best in service delivery and operational excellence for the team at Ailsa.

Meet Derek our field service engineer supervisor. Derek has combined his mechanical knowledge with a specialism in fork truck electrical systems. With technical training approved by manufacturers including BT, Jungheinrich and Komatsu, Derek is most likely to be found in the field working on servicing, maintenance and repairs as well as supervising and managing the other engineers.

Meet Reece McColgan, our Field Service Engineer. Recce will be working closely alongside Derek to ensure that all off-site servicing and maintenance meets the highest standard of excellence here at Ailsa.

Meet Jackie our office manager. Jackie manages the day-to-day necessities and organisation at Ailsa, from invoicing and payment collections to co-ordinating the short term hire fleet. She ensures smooth running off all administrative tasks and is a great asset to the team.

Meet Amy our service co-ordinator. Amy plans the work for our Field Service Engineers, booking service and breakdown jobs, co-ordinating LOLER inspections and ordering parts.

Meet Craig our HGV driver. Craig is always on the move, delivering our forklift trucks on site for sales, long or short term hire. He’s also the man most likely to provide our truck and driver service.

Meet Ross our apprentice forklift engineer. Ross is currently being mentored by senior engineers and is also on the road attending breakdown and services. He also attends on block release, a bespoke Scottish forklift engineering apprenticeship course based in Glasgow.

Meet Jamie our workshop labourer. Jamie's main duty is to get our fleet of trucks ready for sale and hire; from cleaning, preparing and painting trucks, to keeping the workshop/yard clean and tidy and presented as a safe place to work.

Meet Ross our workshop labourer. Ross's main duty is to get our fleet of trucks ready for sale and hire; from cleaning, preparing and painting trucks, to keeping the workshop/yard clean and tidy and presented as a safe place to work.

Meet Ellie, our Trainee Office Administrator. Ellie is working towards her SVQ, supporting Office Manager Jackie with essential daily tasks and assisting our marketing team with activities and photography.
